Especially this season it’s never too soon to look ahead.
Major League Baseball announced the 2020 baseball schedule today with Opening Day on March 26, when all 30 teams will play.
2020 will start with a better slate than this season’s rough road schedule for the Red Sox. From Florida’s spring training home base the Sox will head north to open their next campaign in Toronto, with the temperate benefits of the dome, as they face the Blue Jays for the first four games of the season.
After that, it’s off the Baltimore for three against the Orioles before what’s likely to be the chilly home opener on April 2nd. At Fenway the Sox will welcome the White Sox and Rays for six games in that first homestand.

Interleague Play in 2020
The 2020 calendar includes some rare regular season matchups against the National League, including Red Sox games against the Reds, Pirates, Cardinals and Cubs. In the long histories of these storied franchises (all of them pre-date the 1901 Boston Americans), none have faced the Sox more than 16 times each.
Next year’s Interleague slate begins with two games in Atlanta on May 12th. The Braves will then play two in Boston on June 16-17. Also in June, the Sox will host the Milwaukee Brewers, June 5-7, and head to Chicago to meet the Cubs, June 19-21. The Sox will meet up for three against the St. Louis Cardinals at Fenway, June 26-28.
The Red Sox will play the Pirates in Pittsburgh July 3-5, and meet up with the Reds for four games, two in Boston August 18-19 and two in Cincinnati September 15-16.
The 2020 All-Star Game is set for July 14 at Dodger Stadium.
The Red Sox 2020 season ends with a six-game homestand against Toronto and Baltimore. The final game of the regular season is Sunday, September 27, 2020.
