There’s about two weeks left to vote for your favorite All-Stars, plenty of time to make Mookie Betts a first-time All-Star.
Today’s update from Major League Baseball included an American League outfield of the Angels Mike Trout with 1,812,731 fan votes, followed by our own Jackie Bradley with 1,322,929 votes, and then the Royals Lorenzo Cain with 1,146,885 votes.
Orioles Mark Trumbo (1,110,720 votes), Red Sox Betts (1,069,912) and Blue Jays Jose Bautista (956,160) follow behind the top three outfielders, though Betts showed a lot of voting strength, leapfrogging Bautista in this week’s updated tally.
Other AL All-Star leaders include the Royals Salvador Perez and Eric Hosmer, at catcher and first base, respectively; Red Sox Xander Bogaerts and David Ortiz at shortstop and designated hitter, respectively; the Astros Jose Altuve at second and the Orioles Manny Machado at third. Only Perez and Ortiz have collected more than two million fan votes to date.
You can vote online up to 35 times (but no more than five times a day) between now and 11:59 PM Eastern Time on June 30. You can also receive an All-Star ballot by texting VOTE to 89269 (USA) or 101010 (Canada), or by texting VOTA for a ballot in Spanish. Message and data rates may apply.
The 87th All-Star Game will be played July 12th at the Padres Petco Park in San Diego.
